Mesmerizing and Sensual!
By Chester B. on February 26, 2014
This mesmerizing new disc of piano trios by the wonderful Amasi Trio presents a beautifully and satisfyingly organized program that ends with an undeniably sensual performance of Piazzola’s Oblivion. Except for the Piazzolla, these are all works that I did not know. And the flow from the Parker onwards is a great idea – from the "academic" to the most deeply passionate. For me the gem of the collection is the surprising Liljestrand. What sustained beauty in such a short work. It shows you that you don't have to be tall and long-winded to be effective!
A jewel of a CD

The music is skillfully executed, beautifully interpreted and expressed, I loved it. I would recommend to all classical music lovers
Beautiful!

An album of beautiful mostly romantic music by the wonderful Amasi Trio played with a focused yet gorgeous sound. I particularly liked the dramatic quality of the Rachmaninoff, the lovely "Master's Touch", and the graceful tango by Piazzolla. I look forward to their next album.
Most beautiful piano trios

Horatio Parker was Charles Ives' composition teacher at Yale. But his Suite for Piano Trio is a
gem in the Romantic style. The Amasi Trio's new CD offers an hour of
beautiful music and impeccable musicianship in every respect. Cecile Chaminade's
Lento is a absolutely gorgeous.
Thumbs up!

Here is a chance to enjoy some seldom played gems of the Romantic tradition. The Amasi Trio gives engaging performances recorded in the naturally warm acoustic environment that only a concert hall can provide. Bravo!
